The Piper PA-28 Cherokee is a family of light aircraft built by Piper Aircraft and designed for flight training, air taxi and personal use. The different models of the PA-28 series are all-metal, unpressurized airplanes and single-engine piston-powered .
The aircrafts are also equipped with low-mounted wings and tricycle landing gear – furthermore it is constructed with a single door on the co-pilot side, which only could be entered by stepping on the wing. The main difference of the single versions is the power of the engines installed.
The PA 28-181, also known as Piper "Archer" with a fixed landing gear landplane includes a five inch fuselage extension, increased wing span and larger horiztonal tail.
